Sally Ferguson came to PR from journalism. She honed her skills as a copy/news aide at the Washington Post during the Watergate years. A career as a freelance feature writer was followed by account management and group supervisory roles at top Madison Avenue PR firms including the legendary Carl Byoir & Associates, Creamer Dickson Basford and Ketchum, Inc..

With her husband, David Caras, she founded her own firm in 1985. A certified Master Gardener through Cornell, Sally has been able to combine her PR/journalism savvy and branding skills with a lifelong passion for gardening. She is a nationally known garden writer and has appeared on national television shows, such as Martha Stewart Living, the Today show, CBS Early Show, and others. She is an often-quoted source in newspapers and magazines throughout North America.

Sally earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. She did graduate work in urban planning at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a native of Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota.
